Artifact Licence

This licence is between Unlimited Editions (“we”, “us”) and you, the person who downloads a font file from Loss of Control at lossofcontrol.unlimitededitions.net (“you”).

It covers any font file downloaded from Loss of Control, in any style of Isolation or Transmission and at any edition (the “Font”). Each file is a snapshot of a typeface that changes with every visit. Its edition, the time it was taken and these terms are written into the file.

Before every download, the site shows these terms and asks you to agree. By choosing “Agree and download”, or by downloading, installing or using the Font in any other way, you accept this licence. If you don’t agree, don’t download or use the Font.

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free licence to:

• keep the Font and install it on computers and devices that you own or control;
• use it for personal, non-commercial purposes, such as experiments, study, personal projects and personal correspondence;
• share pictures of what you make with it, such as screenshots and images on personal social media, as long as nothing is sold or promoted;
• open, study and change the Font for your own personal use.

You may not:

• use the Font in any commercial work: anything made for a client, an employer, a business or a brand, or for products, packaging, advertising, publishing, broadcast, merchandise, apps or anything sold or used to promote something;
• sell, rent, share, upload, give away or otherwise distribute the Font, in whole or in part, changed or unchanged, including by embedding it in a website, document, app or other product from which it can be extracted;
• use the Font, or any font made from it, to train or build other typefaces or tools for distribution;
• remove or change the name, copyright, licence or edition information written into the file;
• present the Font, or anything made from it, as your own design.

The typefaces Isolation and Transmission, their original drawings from 2010 and every edition of them are owned by Unlimited Editions. Copyright © 2010 Unlimited Editions. All rights reserved. This licence gives you permission to use the Font as described above; it doesn’t give you ownership of the Font or of the designs in it. Each edition is shaped by visits to the site, but no visitor gains any right in the Font by visiting.

The Font is an artifact and comes as it is. It changes with every visit and may be broken, incomplete or hard to read; that is part of the work. We give no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including that it is fit for any purpose, and we offer no support.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Font, or from not being able to use it. Nothing in this licence limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

This licence ends automatically if you break any of its terms. When it ends, you must stop using the Font and delete every copy you have.

We may publish new versions of this licence. A Font you have already downloaded stays under the version that applied when you downloaded it, unless you accept a newer one.

This licence is governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about it.
